Bird Engineering

About Me

I'm Neal Rice. I consider myself a technology generalist, which is to say, I don't know enough about a lot, but I'm interested in it to the point where I'm capable of getting myself in trouble. I have about 20 years experience with all manner of nonsense, from DOS to Windows to Linux to Unix to AS/400 to Mac to Android to iOS (both Apple and Cisco). I have seen some stuff and some things.

I have telecom experience too: Adtran and Polycom and Cisco (again) and Asterisk, VoIP in general, Radio-over-IP (a little radio in general actually but more specifically RoIP)...

I have dabbled in the graphic arts, both physical and digital. I have dabbled in the musical arts -- again, both physical and digital. I'm not good at anything but I enjoy doing it. Let's just say I know my way around some stuff. An endless sense of curiosity will do that to you.

Some other salient points of interest:

I'm also a funny animal sometimes. I write fiction to that effect and I post it here but not all of it because I'm still cleaning it up and a lot of it's old. Look at my fursona:

They're a housecat, and by extension I also am. Meow and such. But I am also a bird.

So, if you're a cat, what's the deal with "Bird Engineering"

Building a better bird. Get it? Engineering birds. Bird engineering. I accidentally did a logotype once and then it stuck. I loved it so much I bought the domain, and then a friend of mine did a little giftart of it:

what could they be talking about over there

I'm sure I'll keep this space up to date as I keep going.
